Hmm, looks like some of these house are getting closer in, ie. Falls Church & Alexandria. It appears that the bubble DOES collapse from the outside (Loudoun & PWC) in towards the District.....just a matter of time..
Looks like a long, hot summer. But NOT hot for the DC Metro RE market
I mean seriously, who would even list a property in this market unless they have to.
I must say, I am still surprised that this mess hasn't spilled into the broader markets.....the Dow is going to hit 14,000 soon but the average citizens opinion of the economy is not that good.....what gives?
the calculatedrisk blog linked from Harriet's site suggests housing woes have spread significantly (i.e. subprime containment is spreading - just requires a larger container). The dow is going up but the dollar is going down.
these price reductions have to start showing up in the MLS stats sometime don't they?
Virtually all of these houses are nowhere near the desirable inside-the-beltway neighborhoods.
I haven't checked the details of the houses on this list, but most heavy price reductions I have seen are for older properties. built in the 50's, 60's and 70's.
